Private Music Lesson Length & Cost

Students receive an equivalent of 45 lessons spread throughout the entire year beginning in August through the end of July.

Tuition is determined by multiplying the prorated amount for each lesson by 45 and divided by 12 to determine the amount due per month.

  • 30 minute lessons are $131.25 each month and are prorated to $35 a lesson when beginning in the middle of the month.
  • 45 minute lessons are $187.50 each month and are prorated to $50 a lesson when beginning in the middle of the month.
  • 60 minute lessons are $243.75 each month and are prorated to $65 dollars a lesson when beginning in the middle of the month.

Tuition is due by the 1st of every month, with a $25 late fee assessed on the 5th. If tuition is not received by the 8th of every month, an additional $10 fee will be assessed every day until tuition is received. If it is still not received by the 15th, lessons will be suspended until it is received with no refunds or make ups offered with $10 still be assessed every day until it is received.

A $65 registration fee is assessed at the beginning of enrollment each year. It is added to the tuition due for the 1st month. It covers books, materials, and scheduling costs. You will be notified when book balances are low, and an additional deposit will be necessary. The additional deposit will be a recommended amount based off past purchasing history of the student.

Summer Lesson Guidelines

  •  Summer lessons are highly recommended keep student’s musical growth continual, and to maximize retention of information. Continuing with lessons throughout the year helps set the student up adequately to have a rewarding recital experience in the Annual Fall Festival.
  • In addition to the benefits of year around lessons, taking classes in the summer reserves the student’s fall time slot, and they are given first priority to school year scheduling.
  • Instead of the traditional weekly lesson, there are a specific set of hours to fit in over a period of 7 weeks of teaching. This gives the families the flexibility to take vacations during one of those 7 weeks without having to miss a class.
  • Please note that students who do not take lessons during the summer will not be able to keep their school year slot and are given last priority during this scheduling period. Students need time to adequately prepare for recitals and evaluations and will not be eligible to participate in the Annual Fall Recital.

Lesson Passes

Additional Lessons for Recital Preparation

Each student receives 6 lesson passes each year to be used throughout the school year until the end of Summer Session.

  • Lesson passes provide additional individual lessons and extra group classes around performance events for more practice.
  • Passes can be used for Progressive Evaluation Practice, the Summer Soiree event, and extra recital events for masterclasses.
  • Passes used in the Summer Session can apply to missed lessons up to the hours needed. Dependent where other lesson passes are used.
  • Keep track of used lesson passes in the student's weekly assignment book. Each pass you plan to use must be signed and dated by your instructor.
  • Passes do not carry over into the following year and are forfeited if not used.
  • Your instructor must be notified 1 month ahead of time to use a pass to allow for proper scheduling.
  • Passes cannot guarantee lesson accommodation due to limited availability.

Outside of these passes, students can sign up for 2 lessons a week to devote to intensive music study for preparation for competitions, auditions, or a masterclass. Only for students that are extremely serious in making a career out of music. The lesson length determines the monthly tuition amount.
